The staff lie constantly. They don't actually know what they are doing so when you call the Scotia number to handle an issue after 9/10 times if you went to this branch they will tell you it was done improperly. Wasted my time lied telling me they had fixed the issue.

Called the branch to obtain an appointment, was redirect to the customer service number due the circumstances (high colume of calls during covid situation)
Customer service would not grant me an appointment (1 hour wait time over the phone) and ask us to go at the bank location in person.
We went, we were welcomed by a person who seemed to have a hard day. Did not hear us, referred us to Jacynthe for account opening and questions. Mentioned in a not very nice way that we should not be there as we are confined. Explained her we were directed by their own customer service and that the process to obtain an appointment felt challenging. She was rude and unappreciative of us wanting to bring business in.
We are interested in Scotia for some of their banking products that competition does not offer - I feel obligated to deal with them as I would like to benefit their products but really thinking to avoid them after this difficult experience with several associates over the phone and on-site.
If you do deal with them - arm yourself with patience.

My girlfriend and I got a Mortgage thru a broker with them...in branch service was courteous, but several errors after. We received 4 Credit Cards we did not ask for, 2 each both linked to the Line of credit.
We also received 2 sets of Check books also linked to the line of credit...well we think 2 different account numbers, both sets of checks have both our names on them ???

Systems don't work, staff treats you like a fraudster for trying to open an account, lol
Scotia will tell you one thing and then the branch people will tell you something different.
Imagine turning down a guy with over a million in investments and missing out on a potential investment client down the road because you want to make an accout opening procedure as impossible as they can
